Bawumia Counters Mahama's Reset Call, Advocates for National Upgrade

Vice President and flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has dismissed former President John Dramani Mahama's call for a reset of the country’s governance if elected in the upcoming 2024 elections. During a media briefing on Sunday, August 25, Dr. Bawumia described Mahama’s reset agenda as unnecessary, stating that Ghana requires an upgrade rather than a restart. He asserted that his vision for the country focuses on modernization and progress, introducing 14 key commitments that he plans to implement if he wins the presidency. These commitments include job creation, comprehensive tax reforms, and the transformation of Ghana into a world-class digital economy.
